Winter Wonderland Pictures

Here are some pictures of our forays into Winter Wonderland. The babies loved it and didn't want to come in. Demani enjoyed it too but at times he simply tolerated it (see picture above)! I loved that the kids got to play in the snow! This is a lot of snow for NC...the schools were closed for three days! Our neighbors loved borrowing our sleds!

As a side note...I know I post a lot of pics but I genuinely have a hard time picking out just a few to share....so here's a veritable feast...

So I can remember....

Some of the things I post are to share and in some ways this has become a baby book of sorts... I need to do more of the baby book type of stuff. My plan is to one day have the blog made into a book so that I have these memories to treasure.

This just happened.

Scene: Demani brushing his teeth in the buff. I helped him squeeze the toothpaste and he said,

"Oh, it's blue!"

I said, "Yes it is."

D said, "Just like my crayons!"

I said, "You are right, Demani!"

D said, "Just like your eyes."


My eyes then teared up as kissed his little face. He then said, "My eyes are brown." And I said, "Yes, just like daddy!"

It's all about compromise...

Scene: Last night at dinner Mathwon was trying to get a few more bites into Demani. He had told him for 20 minutes he needed to eat three more bites and he could be excused.

After realizing that this just wasn't going to happen Mathwon said:

Demani, let's do this. I'll meet you halfway and...

Demani, interrupting says,

"You eat it."

What's a parent to do? We did what any parents should do. We laughed hard. After recovering, Mathwon told him just one more bite and then I think Mathwon in fact did eat the rest. :)

A visit with NanNan

NanNan came to visit recently and we got to show her the Musuem of Life and Science in Durham and Southpointe Mall (she bravely went with me and the 3 kiddos to the play area there!). We introduced her to Smithfields yummy chicken and we had a coffee date at the house. The kids loved having her here and she loved loving on the kids. Whenever she was out of sight Demani would ask where she was and go in search of her! Here are some pics of our time together.

Remember Zumba?

In a recent post I mentioned that my sister (Tiffany McBride) got ceritfied recently as a Zumba instructor. She now teaches 2 classes and was recently on the news!!! Sweet!
