Demani and Mom both love bath time. From the first time he had a bath he has enjoyed bath time. It is usually a time full of splashes and smiles. He is just so cute in his hooded frog towel that I had to share it with you :)
He is starting to fall asleep earlier and is beginning to do longer stretches at night (mom and dad are loving it!). He's starting to do better at naps. I am reading a bit of Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child and Demani seems to be on target for his age. I think I might need to work on his afternoon naps though. I am going to keep track of his sleep for awhile and see what patterns are emerging.
I just put him down for the night (hopefully) in his cradle for the first time. I'm off to enjoy a few quiet moments before I go to bed myself.
Good night!

Three Months Old
Wow! Time flies! Our little guy is 3 months old already. Right now Mathwon and Demani are exploring a website that has little kid songs. Mathwon is singing along, it is quite cute. Demani is growing so much! He is about out of the bassinet! It is amazing how fast he has grown. He smiles a lot when you talk to him and smile at him. He is also starting to get excited and squeals - it is pretty funny. He has definitely found his voice, he kind of babbles. He has also sticks his bottom lip out when he isn't too happy. He's so dramatic! When that lip pops out I can't help but laugh and give him a squeeze. :)
I am so in love with the little guy! I could just kiss him all day I think! Daddy loves on him all the time. Last night we were waiting for him to get tired and we were laying in bed with the TV on. I was trying to catch a few Z's under the covers and I looked up and there were my two guys watching TV. Demani was propped up on Mathwon's pillow and they were both staring intently at the screen. It was quite precious and I was again reminded of how very blessed I am.

Why didn't I think of that
Demani watched his first Baby Einstein video this week. Our friend Ethan got it for him. Ethan is a month older than Demani and is quite the cutie. Demani enjoys the video, he kicks and squeals at the tv. I wonder if everyone that watches these videos asks the same question, "Why didn't I think of that?" Well baby boy is hungry and I must go and feed the little guy.

Singing again
I'm back to singing on the praise team again. It is good to be back doing that again. It feels good. Last week Mathwon and Demani came to church at 10:30, in time for me to feed him and jump on stage to sing!! Mathwon preaches this week so I am not sure how things will run this week.
Aunt Tiffany stopped by yesterday for a visit on her way home from SAU. We enjoyed her visit! Tomorrow Grammy and Great Aunt Linda are coming for a visit. We are anticipating the visit :) Demani likes visitors, but I especially look forward to visits from family and friends :)
I've been enjoying trying new recipes...so far so good. Some are keepers, some not so much, but how do you know if you don't try! I made some corn muffins to go with the chili I made and I admit I am still not a baker (though they were out of a box, not sure how I screwed that up)...I made cookies yesterday and told Tiff over the phone that I was making them and she said, "oh what kind are you making?" I laughed and said don't get too excited they are just butter cookies out of the package, precut shapes and all! Though I did roll out a cookie out of the extra dough and made a heart-shaped cookie for Mathwon. That was as creative as I got with the baking. I feel like cooking is more forgiving then baking. For the most part, you can fix it if you screw up cooking, but baking is a lost cause - even if you think you've done it right! Mathwon enjoyed the corn muffins (even though they weren't pretty) and he really liked the chili (which made me very happy) but I'm afraid he will likely never get too many homemade cookies that are edible!

An observation
Tonight Mathwon and Demani are watching some football. Demani seems to quite enjoy football! Mathwon was holding him and Demani was pulling his head up and pulling away from Mathwon's chest. He is getting quite strong. As I was watching them it occured to me that Demani seems to pull his head up mostly when Mathwon is holding him. Demani wants to be cuddled by me and when he is with Dad he wants to see what he's got! I added some pics. One is him holding his head up while in Dad's arms.

Happy New Year!
It's been a busy new year already...before I know it 2008 will be upon us - not that I am wishing the time away. We are having a great time. We've adjusted even more so to there being 3 of us instead of 2. I've always needed a ton of sleep but it seems I've adjusted to needing less. Christmas was fun with family and friends. We had a great time sharing our Christmas traditions with Demani. Demani and I decorated the tree together and I introduced him to exactly how we go about that. Because of being so focused on our little one we neglected to water the tree and had to lift it out of the stand, completely decorated, (because I spent valuable time decorating the tree and begged Mathwon to try to fix it without undecorating it), and Mathwon had to saw the bottom off in hopes that it would take water again. As you can imagine, this was quite the sight and we were laughing our heads off. I am hoping this does not become one of our traditions :)
It was really neat to have a newborn baby boy at Christmas time. All of a sudden I related a bit more to Mary; imagining what she must have felt that first night when she held her son and then jumping ahead to the heartbreak and pain she must have felt to see him on the cross. Also it was like I was singing the Christmas carols for the first time. The words were poignant and perfect. How had I missed that before?
Mathwon's sister, Timo, and her husband, Jason, came from CA to visit Demani and for Christmas. We had a fun time playing games with them and chatting. They loved on Demani and Panda. Panda was especially appreciative as I believe he's been feeling a bit neglected. Mathwon's dad (John) and Anthony, and Timo were here for Christmas Day. We had Christmas with my family on the 27th. We had a fun time being together and exchanging gifts. Demani was like one of the gifts at each of the Christmas gatherings, he was treasured and loved beyond measure!
Over Christmas break my sisters and my mom and I went to see The Holiday and Mathwon kept Demani here at the house. My dad and Tony, Tiffany's boyfriend, were here to help too. Dad walked Demani around the house to put him to sleep. We had a great time at the movie - and it was encouraging to me that I am able to get out of the house on my own for a bit!
Since Christmas, Demani and I have been getting back to our routine of seeing friends, taking care of the house, trying to make dinner, and just hanging out. We've had to deal with his first cold this week which has broken our hearts at times :( It is so amazing to me how much I love this little guy. There has been this whole new range and depth of emotion that I never would have experienced if I hadn't become a parent. I catch a glimpse of how God loves us. I can see it in Mathwon too, the love he has just oozes out of him. Just a minute ago he was walking around the house with Demani, through the kitchen, by the front door, through the office and dining room, and then back through the kitchen. Each time he went through the kitchen he would take a bite of his cookie and keep walking. Struck me as cute :)
Well I suppose I should sign off for tonight. I will do better at this blogging, I promise!

Super Demani!!
Well Happy New Year! I just wanted to write a quick post to let you know the blog is still up and running. We were a little delayed getting through the holidays then we were locked out of the blog as the beta version expired. Demani is doing great! He went to the doctor at the end of December and he is now close to 12 pounds and over 24 inches! ! Lately Dad likes to hold Demani up in the air (While mom holds her breath) play superman.....Demani plays his part by sticking his legs straight out and sometimes his arms and usually a big smile. Well we will catch up things over the coming week....I know Mom is eager to get back to blogging.
