It had been 3 1/2 years...

since Mathwon and I had an overnighter away from the kids. Yes, since we became parents we had not been away from the kids. It was time. And the time to do it was to celebrate our 10year wedding anniversary. So the first weekend in July we headed out.

There are no words to describe the sweet, sweet time we had. Time to reconnect, to laugh, to eat dinner at 8pm, to sit on the beach for hours on end...it was wonderful. We found a bed and breakfast in Manteo, NC right next to the Outer Banks. It was so neat - we were in walking distance to downtown Manteo and we would walk to get lunch and walk around downtown and then back to the bed and breakfast.

It was strange at first, for it to be just the two of us. The car was void of carseats, clapping, Old MacDonald, and little laughs. We began to fill it with memories, a book on tape, and conversation that went beyond the nap schedule. It was decadence in it's purest form. We can't wait to do it again sometime!!

Here are a few pics...

Seren and Mekai are TWO!!!

Here are some pics from the birthday weekend. We had a set of grandparents plus two families who each have a set of twins. We had a blast letting the kids play in the pool and sandbox. The jump house from Papa was a big hit too! It was so fun I didn't have time to be sad. It's so crazy the tension that exists within me...I don't want them to grow up but at the same time if they could fix their own lunch once a week I'd be okay with that!

Fishing with Daddy

Hello Blog World....it's been a few months... I will try to do some catching up... but I won't make any promises. :) We've had a packed few months with visits from family, Seren and Mekai's birthday, a family reunion, our 10th Wedding Anniversary...and this list goes on! So perhaps I will get to post a few favorite pics of the past few months but if not I figure it's best to start with the present...

On Saturday we went fishing just a few miles from our house. All three kids caught their first fish! Here are the pics I got!
