We (Demani and I) went to a friend's house last night for a play date/dinner date. We both had a good time. Before we left, little 9 month-old Charlotte was standing up to the coffee table and I put Demani down beside her to say hi. They just kind of looked at each other and touched each other's faces. The other three adults still there were talking and when I saw Demani move towards her I said "Guys, guys, look!" And Demani planted his lips right on her lips and it was one of the cutest, sweetest things I have ever seen aside from the time he hugged his buddy Ari. I was in shock! Charlotte kept reaching out to touch him. Just the cutest!
Demani shows signs of gentleness, love, and compassion even at his young age, so I guess that means we are doing something right even though sleeping in the crib is hit or miss. I guess if I had to choose I'd rather have a compassionate child versus a child that sleeps 10 hours a night in his crib...though don't ask me that in the middle of the night when I've just been kicked in the face!
My dad sent me a package entitled: "The Rigors of Motherhood" and I had no idea what it could be. I received it today and inside were animal figurines: a kangaroo with a joey in her pouch, a chimpanzee with a baby riding on her back and a lion carrying a cub in her mouth. I got a pretty good chuckle out of it! It is so true - I've got a baby in my pouch, and half the time I am a jungle gym/climbing structure, and I am constantly picking up Demani and removing him from some temptation. Dad, you did it again - A fun surprise that captures exactly what you intended! Thanks!

Dad was so excited about the "rigors of motherhood" gift:) Glad you liked it! I knew you would.
I can't believe Demani gave his first kiss!...and to a gal named Charlotte...coincidence? I think not. He has an affinity for Charlotte:)
