Binghamton. The shock of it happening here is only eclipsed by the tragedy of it happening at all. It saddens me so that someone felt like this was the best way to react to where they were at in life. The details are unreleased and likely unknown (at this point) as to why this man walked into the American Civic Association and opened fire. What I do know is that it is unnerving for this senseless violence to happen so close to home. And that there is another way to deal with hurt, despair, grief, and anger. There are many other ways in fact. It also makes me realize anew that each day is a gift - tomorrow is not guaranteed. So love grandly - don't hold back. Forgive readily. Laugh easily. And put your hope in the Lord.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.Proverbs 3:5-6
Thank you to everyone who has checked on us or whispered a prayer for the Binghamton community, the victims and the families of those who were killed.
