The nativity - in the flesh

Christmas has apparently had a big impact on Demani. Just a few minutes ago he took to calling Seren Mary again and himself Joseph. I am still laughing as this all unfolds. And again I am touched by Demani's imagination and soft heart. As we were getting ready to head downstairs for lunch he took his blanket and put it on his head and said he was Joseph. Then as we are coming down the stairs he told me that baby Jesus is in the living room. I was about to respond and tell him that Jesus is with us everywhere we go when he ran over and scooped up puppy (now baby Jesus) who just happened to be swaddled! I told him I had a way to keep his head scarf on and he was all for that! He brought him into the kitchen as I began lunch preparations. As he cuddled baby Jesus he told Seren she was Mary, that he was Joseph, puppy - baby Jesus, and Mekai was the donkey!!! Oh my word!

Demani went to the sink to play in the water, still wearing the his elephant blanket head scarf and soon I told him it was time for lunch. "Demani, it's time for lunch...." and I was interrupted by, "Don't say my name!" Then he swung his little head and with a very serious scrunched up face, and said, "I am Joseph and I am fixing baby Jesus' lunch!" He was extremely offended that I had called him Demani. I couldn't help myself and I laughed out loud and then I said you don't talk to mommy that way. Then I said, "Well, Joseph, it's time for lunch."

TOO PRECIOUS! Give Joseph, Mary, Donkey, and baby Jesus my love. Looks like donkey was getting in your cupboard while Mary and Joseph were sharing a tender moment:) Bethany - you are such an AMAZING mama!!! The kiddos are so blessed to have you...I want to engage and encourage Elle's imagination just as you do with your kiddos...
