My first haircut

All in all Demani did very well with getting his haircut. There were a few squirms, crys, and general displays of protest but he was very patient and the hairdresser was quick about it which helped a lot! I saved a lock of hair of course and got some video and a few pictures.

How is this possible?

When I was pregnant with Demani I would fight the whole "baby brain" phenomenon but this time I am just embracing it. Recently there was an article about this in the news. It's nothing new to us who have carried babies... The story below is proof....

This weekend mom, Demani and I had fun going shopping and just hanging out. We have a few bulbs out on the chandelier in the dining area and so I took a bulb with me to Target to be sure to get the right one. I spent a good 10 minutes trying to make sure I had the right wattage and bulb. I had a hard time finding 60 watt bulbs, it seemed there were a lot of 40 watts. I finally found a selection of 60 watts and a package of bulbs that matched the shape of the light bulb I held in my hand. Later that evening I unscrewed the blown light bulbs and tried to screw in the new ones. Mom was in the kitchen and I couldn't get the bulb to screw in and I exclaimed, "How is this possible?!" Mom asked what was wrong and I told her the new bulbs didn't fit! And I was astounded. Then all of a sudden, mom exploded into uncontrollable laughter and I was like what? She pointed out the bulbs I held in my hand, a new one and one of the blown bulbs and the bases were not the same diameter - not even close. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time, I was laughing so hard that I was crying! Mom said and you took a bulb with you to make sure you got the right one! I told her I guess I should have had her help me with the light bulb selection. So this was all possible because of baby brain. Let's just call it like we see it.
All because of baby brain...x2

Just the cutest...the boy and the jammies

Mom got this great shot of Demani. We both just loved this one. The jammies were a gift from friends: Diane, Craig, and Ryan.

Handsome....

This one's for Great Aunt Becky...

The chair is his new favorite thing to climb onto. It is the chair that Grandpa Davis made along with the desk. We are preparing for a visit from Grammy. She gets in late tonight and will be here for the weekend.

Demani figured out nose today. He will point/grab/poke at Mommy's nose. He is really beginning to understand things too. If I ask him for his drink he will bring me his drink. He loves to play with clean laundry, which as you can imagine, makes folding it a challenge. Last night he was doing really well and then he grabbed two kitchen towels off the coffee table and threw them to the ground. I said, "Demani, Mommy just folded those!" Then I said "can you pick them up please and put them on the coffee table?" And much to my pleasure and surprise, he did, one at a time!! We praise him each time he listens to us - usually verbally and a high five! We've been working on him saying please and still have some work to go on that one. I am ready for him to start talking instead of whining, grunting, and pointing when he wants something. He certainly knows how to tell us what he wants, we are amazed some days at how much he catches on to things. I am certain that Sunday he said banana.

The grin

I've been trying to catch this grin he does! It happens so fast sometimes and this one is still a little fuzzy....but you can see tooth #3 pretty well.
